Bzirleick (ビジレイク) is formed by Shinri and Shinya in kangawa.
According to kisakikisama, who conducted interviews with former members, the band's name is written with English characters. The kanji spelling “美辞麗句” sometimes appears online, but this was never used by the band themselves.
At some point after formation, guitarist Shinya secedes. It seems that Yuzi initially planned to switch guitar, with another person stepping in as vocalist. During studio sessions, Yuzi proved to be the better vocalist, so he instead stayed on vocals with guitar instead being provided by one of his classmates. The other person who had planned to step in as vocalist instead switched to a staff role.
Last(?) live is held.
Bzirleick disbands(?)
In the late 10s, former bassist SHIN (シン) (then Shinri) explained on Twitter that he and KAMIJO (then Yuzi) had originally planned to start a new band together after the disbandment of Bzirleick. This band was to be called Dir en gray (ディルアングレイ), a name which was inspired by the early 90s band Dir & Gray.
As a side note, Dir & Gray guitarist SHOW is the one who originally coined the phrase. It supposedly referred to the flower of the dill (ディル) plant, which normally blooms white, having been stained gray (アングレイ).
The planned band “Dir en gray” never materialized, with KAMIJO instead forming LAREINE (then Laliene). Still a fan of the name, he instead used it as the title for one of their early songs. And with certain La:Sadie's members being friends with KAMIJO at the time, that song title would be the inspiration for the name of their then-new band: Dir en grey.
According to kisakikisama (realtime fan and authority of KAMIJO), when LAREINE guitarist Hirono seceded in October 1995, KAMIJO initially invited Shinri to join as replacement guitarist. This would have fulfilled their earlier goal of being in a band together post-Bzirleick (see previous note). However, Shinri turned the invitation down due to his perceived lack of guitar skill.
Bzirleick was a visual kei band. They were active in 1994 and are now disbanded.
