Sorry for taking so long again, it's not the interview's fault, since it's actually pretty easy XD, I just was too busy lately. -\____- Thanks to new beta-reader sama http://rukusho".livejournal.com ^^

  • I'm afraid the translations misses two small things, I couldn't make sense of, but they're not vital for understanding. Also it might not be 100% correct since my japanese still has room to improve. -__-"""
  • I hope you can enjoy it nevertheless. ^^

 Before you mentioned, that as fellow vocalists you have common worries.

Miyawaki: Indeed there’s a lot.

Jui: It’s problems that no one else understands.

Miyawaki: You yourself are the only that can solve them. The mortifying feeling you get, when you have no voice, it’s hard to cope with.

Jui: Aaah.

Miyawaki: Once I had no voice during rehearsal. It was so vexing that I was about to cry and stormed out of the practice room.

Jui: Yeah, that’s how it feels. I also cry at times when I have no voice during rehearsal … It’s the worst pain ever for me.

Miyawaki: It’s really painful.

Jui: The people that understand times when you say: „Today, I don’t feel good.“, are other vocalists.

Miyawaki: That’s true.

Jui: They kindly reply: “Such things happen, right? “

Miyawaki: They really understand how it feels.

Jui: in such times we want to help each other, by sharing knowledge we learned before, like „What about trying this?“

A simple cold is already a disaster.

  • Miyawaki: Aah, Jui-kun had trouble with hay fever lately. There was nothing he could do, so he was really pitiful.

Jui: Moreover isn’t it kind of uncool, when you have no voice because of hay fever. (laughs) I tried counter measures but well … even now my nose is stuffed.

You also have to bear the responsibility of the MCs.

  • Jui : Well, the Undercode vocalists probably all suck at doing MCs.

Miyawaki: It’s all people that get uneasy, when it comes to the real thing. Either you can create a character like Riku-san or you just say what comes to mind without thinking at all.

Jui: I do think a lot, but before the audience I just can’t say what I came up with.

Riku: You two say so, but seen from my POV, everyone besides me can show their character nicely in the MCs. So about this problem I’d like to say „Why are you worrying? You’re actually not bad.“ (laughs)

Jui: No, I always go on and on about the same old things in my MCs.

Miyawaki: Same here. When I watch videos of lives I skip them. (laughs)

Jui: Indeed. (laughs)

Miyawaki: Also those, who play instruments have to be a t least somewhat calm. But as vocalist your tensions gets high and you end up saying things you didn’t plan to say in the MCs.

Jui: So true. I tend to say unimportant boring things and get laughed at.

Miyawaki: I tend to mess up at the really important parts. (laughs)

But isn’t it nice that you can talk about such things with other Undercode vocals.

  • Miyawaki: That’s true. In the beginning I really cared about my physical condition. I tried not to eat stimulating things and set up a humidifier in my room. But in the end I realized that it’s just about vocalization. If you vocalize probably it’s alright. That’s what I thought when I looked at Riku-san.

Riku: (blushes)No, no, no.

Miyawaki: I really admire the way Riku-san sings.

Riku: Well, that’s just the only way I can sing.

Miyawaki: I would have expected a reaction like “Of course? Who do you think I am?” (laughs)

Riku: (bitter smile) No way I’d say something like that. I could say I worked hard to find a way of singing that is recognized, but still it’s kind of usual.

Miyawaki: So you were born with it. A child prodigy.

Riku: I’m not sure whether that’s a compliment or a disparagement. (laughs)

Miyawaki: Anyway the way Riku-san sings is amazing. Jui’s songs have something eerie about them. I’ve never seen anything similar.

Jui: What the ..? (laughs) There’s nothing special about my songs.

Miyawaki: There so is.

Jui: Your songs are really powerful with their air of madness.

 We have three totally different personalities here.

Miyawaki: The last time I went to see Phantasmagoria at the AX (Shibuya-AX, quite big concert hall in Shibuya, Tokyo)I understood Riku-san’s feelings, so I cheered with all of my heart. But during the intro of a song you have to head bang all the way until he starts singing. It was exhausting. (laughs)

Riku: (smiles)

After all you have this view point because you’re fellow vocalists, right?

  • Miyawaki: I think it’s because we share the same worries.

So, in the end were you glad you could meet each other?

  • Jui: When we meet, we can talk about everything like real good friends, but we’re also
  • fair rivals that accepted each other … It feels like there are 2 vocalists, that are utterly different, close to me. We also inspire each other and learn from each other by adopting things, like: “I might try to steal that from him.” Also we can talk about the vocalist troubles we share and give advice. For me they are really important.

Miyawaki: As for me … I don’t like people that are in bands. (laughs)

Why (laughs)?

Miyawaki: Well, that is, even people that 12012 perform together with, I don’t really like talking to them. (laughs)

  • Jui: Aah, I kind of understand

Is it because you’re rivals?

Miyawaki: I don’t really understand it, but I think I have a kind of evil - “Don’t talk to me!” - aura. Doesn’t it feel like that?

Riku: Well, it really is like “Don’t come close to me!” I think.

Miyawaki: So of course I don’t want to lose to anyone in the label, but these two are different from KISAKI-san and different from my band members, as well. Together we can help each other improve. Because of that I want to maintain this good relationship from now. In brief these two are my friends. (laughs) So please treat me nice. (laughs)

Riku: Well, a relationship where you can talk about everything is not easily to achieve, I think. Also I’m the only one in KISAKI’s band, right? No matter how much I get scolded in the middle of these two I feel that I’ll always get support. It’s not like we try to defeat each other, but rather that we advance together. I’m really happy about that. I think I’m really lucky that I can be part of a label, where there is a relationship of mutual trust among my fellow musicians.
