Eh I don't think it matters where you are in the world, concerts and lives whatever you want to call them are going to have their drama and their group of stupid people.

There are always going to be the entitlement whores who think they deserve to be in the front since they've been following the bands since the sperm met the egg. Then there are always going to be the people who start fights for stupid reasons. Moshes and the whole nine yards.

I think its good UCP is doing the friendly reminders, because hopefully it means that SOMEONE even if its just one person might listen. Too many bands usually let shit like that just fly and don't even bother t acknowledge the problem.

is reminded of Avenge Sevenfold

What sucks is that such reminders are no use. There's always gonna be drama at lives =\ but at least Under Code is putting their 2 cents into the situation

I would just send Wataru after them to choke them all.

You are so right. Or rather, you couldn't be more right! It's like these shikiri girls - gaijin or japanese - thought they own the band and it's a high priviledge for everyone else but them and their friends to be able to listen to it. I bet if the artists were told about these actions they'd judge it like the rest of us "regular fans".

And yes, like you said, the sad thing is you can't change it, not in the event or in any other occasion. You can't just go and shout at their faces "alright, now you're being a bitch. Stop it." No matter how much you want to do so or kick them in the ankle. :'D

I'm just being really cynical towards these kind of people and secretly I hope they'll choke in their morning boridge and die silently. But lets not tell anyone I said that. :'D

I'd go with "impressed" this time.

Yes, it's absolutely crazy. The worst thing is, that you can't do anything about it unless you contact the staff of the company/band that's sponsoring the live event you're attending.

They're scaring fans away and it doesn't help the band in any way. I don't get why are they unable to understand such simple logic. It's kinda ridiculous that the girl you're talking about was a gaijin - not that I think the Japanese fans are better, but they sure know more. But still nobody has the right to act as if they were better than the others. To the band it doesn't matter how long have you been their fan, if you know their names, birthdates or bloodtypes, as long as you enjoy the music, buy their releases, come to the shows and support them.

I would just send Wataru after them to choke them all.

That sounds horrible. I wish I was there to tell those shikiri girls they aren't any better than the rest of us.

So much for the Japanese politeness.

I've stumbled upon a same kind of phenomenom. Except that in this case the girl was gaijin and concidered herself a better fan (for a reason I won't reveal) and kept telling everyone "Stop saying that I think I'm a better fan -- because I am!"

I think these kind of fans are the opposite of the best - after all, these people make bands and events seem like horrible stuff. They're not improving the reputation of the bands and I know alot of people who have just given up on listening some band because its fans are so awful.

Horrible when you can't go to your favorite bands gigs, because you'll get bullied there...

That's basically it, just add the obsessive fanatical Japanese fangirls. They like bullying weaker and newer fans a lot, and it's not a rare case that someone just stopped going to the shows of a certain band because of those stupid shikiri girls.

I haven't, but we have sort of the same problem even here. For example people go to the front row even when they don't know the band members names... Or because they've listened to the band from year 0 they think they have the rights to cut the line.

Exactly what I had in mind.

Haven't you heard about it? The "visual kei summit" interview in one of the Cure issues featuring names like KISAKI, KAMIJO, TOMOZO, KENZI, TOMO, TATSUYA, MAR, Michiru and Izumi discussed this problem. It's basically when some of the fans who have been following the band for a long time ((usually from the start of activities)) think of themselves as more important and act as "managers" of the other fans. They tell others where to stand, don't let anyone in the front rows if it's not their friend and boss everyone around. It's really horrible :/

Reminds me an interview of CURE magazine 2010/01 about the shikiri system...

It's kinda unexpected, but I still like the fact that they've made this reminder. I mean, UCP is pretty infamous for the stupid shikiri system ((what's the girl called? Arashi?)) and this may reduce it a bit.

I thought something went down! To the point where they all got pissed like oshi--. But I wouldn't be surprised by a simple reminder.

All the UNDER CODE blogs have been posting some copypasta about live manners: protect your belongings so they don't get stolen, don't wear spikes on your clothes lest you poke someone's eye, don't tell girls where to stand, don't wait outside after show, etc., etc.

I'm not sure if it's in response to any specific incident or whether it's just something they do periodically to remind girls “hey, stop being bitches” (it's happened in previous years).
