Jikkentai NEMESIS will hold a one-day revival on 2016-01-05 at OSAKA MUSE.
If you don't remember, Jikkentai NEMESIS was a continuous session band formed by guitarist SAN after the disbandment of NEGA. It featured ex-Reeper vocalist Saica and ex-Vior gloire drummer ARU. Guitarist Hiroya and bassist Nagi joined for the session's last live, and that lineup became official band the:Ø.
It has been confirmed that the 2016-01-05 performance will not feature the full lineup, but Nagi and SAN have already confirmed their participation.
That should kill the rumors of SAN being hated by everyone for joining BFN, lol.
EDIT: Saica and Aru, plus ex-LUCHE. guitarist Hikaru, have also confirmed their participation in the revival.
ex-Vior gloire vocalist shall (シャル) has officially joined FUTURISM・BOYZ as of 2014-11-23!
They've had quite the lineup drama... You'll remember bassist B.B suddenly seceded in 2012, and then vocalist CO- disappeared after being arrested in 2013. In 2014, after continuing as a two-person, non-visual band for some time, shall appeared as guest vocalist, then CO- formally announced his secession and retirement. Drummer Shun (俊) recently announced his new band Ai-collage, so it seemed that F・B would be on the back burner... But with shall formally joining, maybe we'll get some more activity! And, gods willing, a release?!
I assume (for the time being) that remembrance will continue at its leisurely pace, but who knows?
Here's a roundup of the latest news related to ARLEQUIN, ISORA, VARYL, SIVA, E'm ~grief~, LIN, MASKED RIDER SYSTEM, and Vior gloire.
ARLEQUIN will begin their latest collaboration with Like an Edison on 2014-10-20. Like before, it includes special instores, shopping bags, etc., but more importantly, they'll distribute a new song called Ichijiku (無花果). Also like before, Like an Edison is an asshole, so this only applies in store; web orders won't include the distributed CD.
VARYL (ex-Visage vocalist new band) will release their maxi-single, Aitou (哀悼), in 2015. Their celebration event, Kaihou Junrei -Daiisshou- (解放巡礼 -第一章-), will be on 2015-01-23 at Ikebukuro (池袋) EDGE.
Here's a sample from MASKED RIDER SYSTEM's upcoming single:
Soon-to-disband super indie band, Emlibeur, released their first (and last) single on 2014-10-19. Interestingly, they thanked ex-Vior gloire vocalist shall in the credits, so I guess he helped them somehow :) Here's a sample of some other songs from them, just for kicks:
LIN is in Vol.15 of Chinese visual magazine VISUALZINE.
ISORA will hold their threeman, Butterfly Effect, with DISGUST and CielGrave on 2014-12-05 at LIVE HOUSE D'.
ex-SIVA session Bakemonogo (化物語) will appear on 2014-10-28 with the lineup:
【V. KAIRI (カイリ) [ex-SIVA] / G. HIKARU (ヒカル) [THE GALLO] / G. Narumi (成海) [ex-Bergerac] / B. Mayu (真悠) [ex-HALCION (ハルシオン)] / D. aki [ex-E'm ~grief~, etc.]】
remembrance has announced the details of their first maxi-single, which will be sold only at their live on 2014-10-09. It turns out that the release, rebirth, will feature covers of shall's previous bands (including Vior gloire!) Unfortunately for us, I don't expect the release to be available for ordering online.
The FUTURISM・BOYZ vs Dancing MOGA twoman was completed successfully, with attendance almost sold out, and renewed optimism among remaining members Shun (俊) and YUKIHIRO (ユキヒロ)! In addition to mentioning a few interesting details of F・BOYZ' activity until now (please check the biography page), Shun mentioned in a post that the duo has already planned more lives, due to the success of this one!
It seems we might get an official announcement about a FUTURISM・BOYZ vocalist in August...!
Here's the setlist from the show (keep in mind that lyrics and rhythm to almost all songs were changed to accommodate shall!):
the:Ø have revealed their first look and samples of their first songs!! All songs were composed by SAN... ...so why do they suck?!?! IMO they're surprisingly basic for such great musicians. But what do you think?
ex-Vior gloire guitarist serra's new band, friguslumbare has indefinitely paused activities ...after only one live. And their explanation is something about the plumbing in one of the members' houses? Or something?
....Guess we should have known from the DJ in a motorcycle helmet that wasn't a serious band.
So anyway, you may remember that friguslumbare was going to sell a 3 song CD for 500 yen at their first live. Well, now their OHP says that they “forgot to do that”, and now they're distributing it via mailorder. Maybe.
Anyway, on a more serious note, it sounds as if serra is taking a break from music. Hopefully that's not the case!
On 2014-09-22, legendary visual kei hair & makeup house Tritt für Tritt will celebrate its 10th(!) anniversary with a huge modeling & live event in Ikebukuro (池袋). After teasing details for the past five months, Tritt für Tritt has finally announced the full lineup of participants in its event―and a plethora of ex-UNDER CODE PRODUCTION musicians will appear!
While Tritt für Tritt will handle all hair and makeup for the modeling portions, they will collaborate with the following fashion houses for clothes and accessories: SEX POT, Royal Princess Alice, Angelic Pretty, SUPER LOVERS, Rion, and mIRA..
THE BLACK SWAN formally announced its lineup on Sunday; as speculated previously, it features ex-Vior gloire bassist RENA along with other relatively unknown musicians.
THE BLACK SWAN V. 儿-JIN- (ex-NEGA) G. 樹-ITSUKI- (ex-ORIGAMI (オリガミ))
G. 誠-MAKOTO (ex-RevieЯ, Doppler)
B. RENA (ex-Vior gloire) D. 煉-LEN-
THE BLACK SWAN held a secret live on the 11th at SHIBUYA REX and performed the following original songs:
Jishin Boukansha (自深傍観者)
HATE YOURSELF UNTIL YOU DIE
The band will release their first live-limited single, Kurochou (黒聴), during their first live tour which starts on 2014-06-06. The single will contain two songs―I'm pretty sure these will be “I SOLATION” and “Jishin Boukansha”, as these are already recorded, but this hasn't been confirmed.
Finally, THE BLACK SWAN has revealed that their tour final will be held on 2014-09-11 at Takadanobaba (高田馬場) AREA.
GOEMON RECORDS will sponsor its event Goemon NO Kado -Sono Ichi- (五右衛門ノ門-その壱-) on 2014-07-08 at Takadanobaba (高田馬場) AREA. ARLEQUIN will appear as guest.
ARLEQUIN guitarist Kuruto (來堵) has healed from his ligament injury and is planning to return at the band's 2014-05-05 live appearance.
Those who purchase tickets for Tatoeba Konna Hanashi (たとえばこんなはなし)'s 2014-05-02 sponsored event through the band will receive a 2-song live DVD or a CD(?) with drummer Kishihara Masami (岸原 雅巳)'s version of Binetsu Tairiku (微熱大陸).
Some self liner notes of upcoming omnibus Yougenkyou -WEST- THE CONQUEST OF NANIWA (妖幻鏡-WEST-) have been posted. About LIN (凛 -THE END OF CORRUPTION WORLD-)'s song, the band says:
Vocalist KAGUYA (ex-BERLIN~GRIEVER) has mentioned that he plans to start a new band soon.
Mizuki (美冬), former roadie for Vior gloire, has mentioned that former UNDER CODE PRODUCTION roadies are planning to reunite for a special session band! Details TBA.
There was a printing error in the booklet of carat (カラット)'s latest single. If you purchased it, please see the notice.
Lilith has served as the opening act for Kiryu (己龍)'s overseas live on 2014-04-20.
ex-Syndrome vocalist who now calls himself Pami。 (ぱみ。) has released the PV for his first solo song. Despite seeming like it's going to be unbearably embarrassing, it's not half bad in the end!
THE BLACK SWAN, new band of ex-NEGA vocalist 儿-JIN-, has officially started!!! Check out THE BLACK SWAN's first official photo (above) and [awesome] samples of their songs Jishin Boukansha (自深傍観者) and ISOLATION:
Although THE BLACK SWAN has officially started, the band's full lineup still hasn't been revealed. From his hand tattoo, I'm pretty sure that's RENA (ex-Vior gloire) on the far left, but I can't confirm any of the other members (aside from assuming they're the same as the TBS session lineup).
At any rate, THE BLACK SWAN has announced their first tour, and more information should be revealed before their first live on 2014-06-06.
Here's the latest slew of minor-ish updates featuring, in no particular order, FOODED SEAL, Paranoid≠circuS, Vior gloire, SUZAKU (朱), GIGAMOUS, CARAT (カラット), and ARLEQUIN (アルルカン):
FOODED SEAL will release a new live-limited single beginning with their appearance at SHIBUYA REX's 2014-03-26 sponsored event. The single includes 3 new songs for 500 yen (including one song which was previously released by Sami during his solo activity).
→ FOODED SEAL - Aitakute
FOODED SEAL will make an important announcement at their 2014-03-24 sponsored event.
Paranoid≠circuS (ex-roadie of SUZAKU band) will release their first single, BoXX-D- on 2014-04-23.
ISORA (ex-SUZAKU new band) will participate in PureSound Records' omnibus SOUND OF NOISE 2014 on 2014-05-14.
ex-Vior gloire vocalist shall (シャル) has announced his new “intermittent band” remembrance. (Although it's an official band, he expects that they won't be very active: so possibly no releases and lives only every few months.) They will debut at 2014-04-06 event INDEED... at BRAND NEW, with their next live to be on 2014-06-08.
→ remembrance lineup details
ex-Vior gloire guitarist serra announced that he's joined a new, non-visual band called friguslumbare! Additionally, it seems that he's changed his name to 充紀-MITSUKI-.
friguslumbare L→R clockwise 【G. 充紀-MITSUKI- (ex-Vior gloire as serra) / V. Coris / DJ. May-Jing / D. 大介-DAISUKE- / G. 雅樹-MASAKI- / B. 環-TAMAKI-】
friguslumbare was formed by 4 core members in 2013, and new members G. MITSUKI (serra) and DJ. May-Jing have joined as of 2014-02-18. Now with a complete lineup, friguslumbare will hold their first live on 2014-04-13 at Nishikujou (西九条) BRAND NEW. Although, according to MITSUKI, their pace will be leisurely, the band has already announced its 3 song demo CD, ELYSIONE / BLUE TEARS / prepare myself, will be released at the live for 500 yen.
ex-Vior gloire vocalist/genius shall has mentioned that he will start up some sort of band activity on 2014-04-06 at Nishikujo (西九条) BRAND NEW. He says that he wanted something with a “name” (imo more formal than a session band), but something slow, with a live only every month or two. So it sounds to me like he'll be starting a continuous session band... but it can't hurt to hope for more, right?!
By the way, shall started his reminiscence of visual kei influences influential to him. Check it out here.
Latest session updates, featuring ex- NEGA, Vior gloire, and SIVA:
Further members of ex-NEGA SAN session band Jikkentai NEMESIS (実験体NEMESIS) appearance on 2014-03-08 have been announced:
【V. Saica (槐) (ex-Reeper) / G. SAN / D. ARU (アル) (ex-Vior gloire) / (others TBA)】
ex-SIVA vocalist KAIRI (カイリ) will hold his session at PLACEBO (プラセボ) (band produced by ex-NEGA Ray) sponsored event.
By the way, I wonder if Musoukai (無双会) might be a label owned by Ray, considering that it produced Raychel BAND and PLACEBO lives.
ARLEQUIN (アルルカン) bassist Shohei (祥平) has announced his May birthday event, and an interesting session band called TBS will appear there... Could this be ex-NEGA vocalist JIN (儿) new band, THE BLACK SWAN? Read on:
As I said, SESSION BAND TBS (セッションバンドTBS) will appear at the event―TBS just happening to be the same initials of THE BLACK SWAN. Furthermore, the lineup includes ex-Vior gloire bassist RENA and ex-ORIGAMI (オリガミ) guitarist Itsuki (樹), both of whom JIN follow on Twitter. The session's lineup is listed as follows:
【V. (undecided) / G. Itsuki / G. Chi? (千) / B. RENA / D. Kiryu? (希柳)】
But here's the real kicker: the Japanese version of the information includes the note “ボーカ儿は未定です” (“vocal is undecided”). Notice the underlined character? ...That kanji, innocently slipped into the word “ボーカル” (“vocal”), is the kanji for “JIN”!!
So it looks like THE BLACK SWAN will be performing in May, at least in a session/prototype state. If the lineup stays the same (and I hope it does, 'cause JIN and RENA could be cool together!), we can expect THE BLACK SWAN to have the following members:
【V. JIN / G. Itsuki / G. Chi? / B. RENA / D. Kiryu?】
What do you think? Will THE BLACK SWAN have the same lineup as this session? Is this a promising lineup? Do you know anything about mystery members Chi and Kiryu?
Raychel BAND (れいちぇるバンド) has announced the second guitarist for their 2014-02-06 appearance: 【V. Itsuki (いつき) (ex-SUZAKU) / G. SAN (ex-NEGA) / B. Ray (ex-NEGA) / D. ARU (アル) (ex-Vior gloire) / G. Ao (碧) (ex-paradeis)】.
Continual session band Zaidan Houjin Kurojuuji (財団法人黒十字) will perform today in a RIKU-less version called Zaidan Hitori Kurojuuji (罪団一人黒十字). At the live, Zaidan Houjin Kurojuuji (the normal version of the session) will release a demo CD-R containing a new song.
Some updates on session bands featuring ex-SUZAKU (朱) members:
As previously announced, Shungokusatsu (瞬獄殺) will perform on 2013-12-24 at Shibuya (渋谷) Rex. The guitarist has been announced: Aki, who also appeared in session bands by ex-SUZAKU bassist Kizuna (絆). 【V. Itsuki (樹) (SUZAKU) / B. RENA (Vior gloire) / G. Aki / (others TBA)】
On 2013-12-06 at LIV'ERT sponsored event, the session band of ex-bassist Kizuna (絆) performed, featuring ex-drummer Karen (火憐): 【V. Syuuya (秋夜) (ex-scarlet) / G. aki / G. Yuuho? (優歩) / B. Kizuna (ex-SUZAKU) / Support D. Karen (ex-SUZAKU)】
Drummer Karen acted as support drummer for MonoLog (new band of ex-Synside guitarist kikyo) at their 2013-12-08 live.
Drummer Karen will perform with MonoLog bassist Misamisa (みさみさ) in a copy band on 2014-01-11 at Minamihorie (南堀江) ZERO, further details TBA.
Raychel BAND (れいちぇるバンド), the ongoing session band of ex-NEGA Ray, has announced a February performance. This time the lineup features ex-NEGA, SUZAKU (朱), and Vior gloire members, with an additional member TBA. Personally, it's a lineup that I would love to see as a real band!!
By the way, the event is sponsored by ELE-MUSIC, which is the label of ex-DAS:VASSER bassist Hideaki (秀暁). And the event features Pink-Tribal (ex-Aliene Ma'riage~DAS:VASSER~La'Mule members), DECIDE (produced by Ray), and Paranoid≠circuS (ex-SUZAKU roadie band). So it seems like a pretty cool event all around :)
king zeebra, the new label by ex-SUZAKU (朱) vocalist Itsuki (樹)―I think―has announced its second sponsored event. As before, the event will feature ex-SUZAKU, Vior gloire, and NEGA members, including the Shugokusatsu (瞬獄殺) session; so check it out!
ex-NEGA guitarist SAN and ex-Vior gloire drummer ARU (アル) will perform in a session band called Jikkentai NEMESIS (実験体NEMESIS) 【V. Saica (ex-Reeper) / G. SAN (ex-NEGA) / G. Ao (ex-paradeis) / B. (undecided) / D. ARU (ex-Vior gloire)】 on 2013-12-31 at Ash OSAKA. By the way, ex-Dali~LOTMAN new band 2 Gatsu 22 Nichi (2がつ22にち、せかいはぼくらをしる。) will also perform at that event.
Long-running session UNDER CODE PRODUCTION session band Zaidan Houjin Kurojuuji (罪団法人黒十字) will perform in 2014―sort of. The session classically features dual vocalists Ren (ex-Dali) and RIKU (ex-LIN), but RIKU will not appear this time; the session has therefore been renamed to Zaidan Hitori Kurojuuji (罪団1人黒十字). Besides Ren, the session will also feature LOTMAN guitarist SORA and ex-Vior gloire bassist RENA.
Couple of bits of info about Shugokusatsu (瞬獄殺), the continuous session band of ex-SUZAKU (朱) vocalist Itsuki (樹) and ex-Vior gloire bassist RENA:
Shugokusatsu will perform on 2013-12-24 at SHIBUYA-REX (guitarist and drummer TBA). ex-CindyKate (シンディケイト) band FOODED SEAL (フーデッドシール) will also play at that event.
Before that, Shugokusatsu will also perform on 2013-12-12 at Osaka (大阪) RUIDO, with ex-NEGA guitarist SAN and ex-Vior gloire drummer ARU (アル).
On 2013-10-24, Shugokusatsu performed with ex-NEGA guitarist SAN and ex-SUZAKU drummer Karen (火憐). They played MaGARU by SUZAKU, Niji by L'Arc~en~Ciel, AGITATOR by Vior gloire, and Kusarekoi by SUZAKU.
ex-SUZAKU band Envus will hold a one day revival on 2014-01-11 (further details TBA). 【V. HIDEKI (ex-SUZAKU Itsuki) / G. Haruka (MonoLog) / G. Kaoru (holyclock) / B. Kagari (ex-SUZAKU Kizuna)】
New Kansai-area indie label king zeebra seems to be owned by Itsuki.
Here are some recent and upcoming sessions featuring ex-UNDER CODE PRODUCTION band members. Know something I missed? Share it in the comments!

Vior gloire successfully finished their 2 year anniversary and last live oneman, XOR vior ~2 Nenkan no Kansha wo Komete~ (XOR vior ~2年間の感謝を込めて~), the other day. It seems that the live was a success, with several fellow ex-UCP bandmates attending and several fans offering flowers to the band. ex-bassist RENA posted the setlist, and I've reposted it below:
01. HYSRIC (ヒスリック)
02. Freezing rain
03. DEATH PARADE
04. INSPIRE (インスパイア)
05. IRONONAI SEKAI (イロノナイセカイ)
07. DEAD the CREATOR
08. Kurui Hateta Genjitsu ni Mita Sekai (狂い果てた現実に見た世界)
09. LILIAS・SOPHIE to Yuuutsu (リリアス・ソフィーと憂鬱)
11. My place
01. ALI (アリー)
03. NAKIHA (ナキハ)
Even though they had very few releases, I'm happy that Vior gloire managed to release almost all of their songs. The only songs we'll never be able to hear are Freezing rain and the fabled New song 1 (which must have been super bad, as I think they played it at only 1 live). Anyway, truly one of the greatest UNDER CODE bands IMO. Let's check out their discography and mourn!
CindyKate disbands today and then Megaromania follows at the end of the month. From there, REALies and F・B are the only UNDER CODE bands left standing (and it seems that REALies will be the only one to make it much farther).
ex-Vior gloire vocalist shall will perform with a session band on August 12th at Livqueur Records' sponsored event Soukyuu no PARABEZUMU (蒼穹のパラベズム).
After that, on September 1st, shall will appear with his previous band GRiST as a one-day revival (unfortunately, Vior gloire guitarist serra [guitarist of GRiST as Mitsuki] will not appear, as he will have retired at that point). The live will take place a Shinsaibashi club ALIVE as part of CROW MUSIC's 16th anniversary special live night, 「Shin×sai×bashi×Ki×shi×kyou×satsu」 Dear ALIVE Tokubetsu Kouen! (「心×斎×橋×騎×士×狂×殺」 Dear ALIVE特別公演!).
The GRiST one-day revival will probably be shall's last performance, as he has expressed disinterest in continuing musical activities :(
Vior gloire announced at their June 8th oneman that they will disband this year.
Previously, guitarists kei and serra, and drummer ARU announced their intention to secede from the band after its June 9th oneman. At the time, vocalist shall and bassist RENA indicated that they would try to somehow move forward with the band―it seems that they've changed their minds.
Vior gloire's last live will be a free oneman on Jully 11th (tentative), and it appears that the original five-member lineup will perform (with kei, serra, and ARU performing as support members). Further details are expected soon. As for the future: kei has retired, and shall has says that he feels too old to try a new band...
By the way, Vior gloire freely distributed CDs with new songs at the June 8th & 9th oneman. I have the tracklist for the 8th version (below), but I'm not sure if the 9th version was any different. I also haven't been able to find more information than that... sorry.

UNDER CODE PRODUCTION special collaboration unit 「D・N・A」 will appear in the second omnibus, covering hide's Junk Story. The lineup of the unit is unknown, but the photoshoot featured all vocalists of UNDER CODE's currently-active bands, plus KISAKI―so, we can assume those people will be involved.
hide TRIBUTE Ⅱ -Visual SPIRITS- will be released on July 1st, 2013. Tracklist is below:
Vior gloire guitarist serra has announced that he will leave the band after their June oneman. This makes him the third member to make such an announcement―leaving vocalist shall and bassist RENA as the only members of Vior gloire after June 9th...
KISAKI has been dropping hints about “UNDER CODE PRODUCTION's last collaboration.” Although it's unclear what the collaboration is, we have the following information:
It involves the vocalists of all current UNDER CODE bands―they just did a photoshoot (see above) with KISAKI specifically for the collaboration.
It probably involves music―KISAKI's been in the studio working on arrangement.
It seems to have been decided at the last minute―KISAKI said that he's been in the studio for hours, under intense pressure, trying to finish by the upcoming deadline.
My guess is a last collaboration song, maybe something like KISAKI did with Wataru, RIKU, and Jui in 2007 when 12012, Phantasmagoria, and VIDOLL were graduating from the label (...well, were planning to, anyway). What do you think? Whatever the last collaboration is, we'll find out on May 3rd, when it's announced at UNDER CODE PRODUCTION's last live.
2013-04-30 edit: A special photoset of the collaboration photos (seen above) will be sold at UNDER CODE's dissolution event for 2,000 yen. Cheki from the photoshoot will also be sold, in pairs, for 1,000 yen.
At yesterday's oneman live, Vior 2013 Spring Shower, Vior Gloire made two announcement: in june, they will hold two oneman lives, 「XOR vior-Evolve-」 and after those, Kei (gt) and アル (Aru) (dr) will leave Vior Gloire. Kei will even stop any musical activity.
Vior gloire will hold their oneman, Vior 2013 Spring Shower, on the 17th at HOLIDAY OSAKA. The band has announced a spur-of-the-moment project: in commemoration of their short time left at UNDER CODE PRODUCTION, Vior gloire will appear in their legendary rejected costumes, for one night only!
Back in 2011, before Vior gloire was officially announced, the UNDER CODE website was secretly updated with a photo of the then-new band. However, once the band officially debuted, they had completely different costumes, and the ones in the original photo were never seen again. These are the “legendary rejected costumes”. You can see the fabled OHP picture below:
UNDER CODE artists have been featured in a lot of omnibuses lately. First, there's the last memorial omnibus, High Style Paradox 2003~2013, which features all UCP artists. Second, Megaromania and LIN will participate in a special omnibus compiled by PENICILLIN guitarist Chisato (to which LIN will contribute a new song). And finally, sever UNDER CODE bands have been featured in a digital compilation series called VISUAL☆INVASION. Details for all are below:
UNDER CODE PRODUCTION has announced that, in collaboration with SHOXX, it will release its 10th anniversary memorial last omnibus, High Style Paradox 2003~2013. The mail-order-limited omnibus will be released in March, and will feature all significant bands (32 in total) signed to UNDER CODE PRODUCTION throughout its 10 years of activity.
Those who purchase the omnibus before February 28th will receive a special 24 month calendar.
Because the omnibus is mail-order-limited through SHOXX, it will not be available to overseas customers via usual means. However, I organize a group order as soon as I find a viable shopping service—expect a separate with details.
UNDER CODE PRODUCTION has announced its 10th anniversary last tour: Nihon Seiatsu FINAL -since 2003~2013- (日本制圧FINAL -since 2003~2013-). The tour will take place from March 1st through May 3rd, after which UNDER CODE will dismantle.
As part of UNDER CODE PRODUCTION's 10th anniversary special events, the final edition of the label's long-running event series, act unlawfully, has been announced. A final edition of the recent newcomer's event series, NEXT INNOVATORS, has been announced as well.
Today, more information about Arc's one day revival has been released! It seems that PERESTROIKA will hold a one day revival at the event as well, and special session bands Zaidan Houjin Kurojuuji (罪団法人黒十字) and 可菜水木 (Kanamizuki) will also appear.
UNDER CODE has hastily decided to hold another edition of CLUB★地下线 (CLUB★Chikasen) immediately after its New Year countdown live. At the event, all UNDER CODE band members (except from Cu[be]) and 120 lucky attendees will drink and have fun!
Although it's ahead of schedule, I'm happy to announce the WE LOVE UNDER CODE privilege sharing program!
Starting today, those of you who purchase qualifying releases through CDJapan and provide proof to WE LOVE UNDER CODE will receive copies of Japan-only store privileges! The catch is that this only applies to certain releases (those which will be purchased by WE LOVE UNDER CODE staff participating in this program), and they must be purchased via the affiliate links below (this allows me to confirm the purchase, and any funds will go to special WE LOVE UNDER CODE programs planned for the rest of the year).
Participating in the program is simple: purchase one of the following qualifying CDs using the affiliate links below. Once you have completed your purchase, forward the CDJapan confirmation email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and the privilege will be mailed to you upon its release.
Further clarifying information will be forthcoming in the next week, but these are the basics. I will continue to post updates any time that releases are added to or removed from this program, or if any there are any changes in privileges.
Although CDJapan is the best store for international visual kei purchases (because of its point rewards and multitude of payment options), it's sometimes sorely lacking in privileges when compared to Japanese stores. Hopefully this program can change that, even if only for a few people. I hope that this is a welcomed program for those of you who can only purchase from CDJapan!
SUZAKU (朱) has revealed the cover art and tracklisting of their upcoming (one week!) first full album. The cover art is pretty cool, but the tracklisting includes a SUPER disappointing only 4 new songs. Let's hope that some of the old ones are rerecorded, shall we?

Vior gloire has revealed the tracklisting for their upcoming first full album, but no cover art yet! Contrast to SUZAKU, Vior gloire's album features 14 tracks (originally announced as only having 10!). Four of them are story SE tracks, but the album still features a hefty 8 new songs, and only 2 previously released ones. Go Vior gloire!
Finally! The first full albums from Cu[be], REALies, SUZAKU, and Vior gloire are now available for preorder at CDJapan! Dali's last best album, LIN's album re-release and live DVD, and Megaromania's new singles and live DVD are available as well.
Unfortunately, KISAKI has revealed that this was the end of the 輪・廻・転・生 ~A RETURN OF “VISUAL MONSTER” (Rin・ne・ten・sei) event series. Furthermore, he revealed that it's the very last revival live of MIRAGE as well. This was a great year for 90s visual kei revivals―can't last forever, can it?
Vior gloire has announced their first full album! (SUZAKU did too!) It will be released this October, in―wait for it―one type only! The album will include 10 tracks, most of which will be new. To celebrate the release, Vior gloire will hold a three-city sponsored event tour. At each stop, they'll freely distribute an unspecified present (probably a postcard or sticker, etc.). The tour will wrap up with a commemorative oneman, at which the band will freely distribute a DVD (contents unknown).
Last night, Cu[be], 朱 (SUZAKU), and Vior gloire held the threeman final of their monthly event series, NEXT INNOVATORS. Although we don't have specifics yet, several announcements have trickled out from the MCs during the event.
朱 (SUZAKU) will release a full album!!
朱 (SUZAKU) will have a sponsored event on August 24th
朱 (SUZAKU) will have an event tour with a oneman tour final
Vior gloire will release a full album!!

Dali has announced the finale to their year long sponsored event live series. ダリコレ2012 finale TOKYO (DALI COLLE 2012 finale TOKYO) will be held on August 8th at 新宿 (Shinjuku) RUIDO-K4. At the event, the band will make an important announcement
In 2007, UNDER CODE PRODUCTION sponsored a “Tribute to Phantasmagoria” tour at which all bands payed homage to Phantasmagoria. It has since become tradition for the label to host an annual “Tribute to Phantasmagoria” memorial live on the band's disbandment anniversary. And this tradition continues in 2012!
At yesterday's session live, KISAKI announced a new volume of his 轮・回・転・生 (Rin・ne・ten・sei) event series: Matina VS UNDER CODE PRODUCTION! The live will be held in August and will feature 3 Matina bands, 3 UNDER CODE bands, and a special session band.
UNDER CODE is sponsoring an event for 兼継 (Kentz), ex drummer of 「あゃ」 (「Aya」) and chariots, as he retires from the music scene. (I mentioned this live in a previous post, but full details have since been revealed.)
The live is called SELFISH DREAMER with DEAR FRIENDS and will take place on April 21st and 28th. At both lives, 「あゃ」 (「Aya」) will hold a revival performance, and chariots will appear as a friendship guest. Furthermore, NEGA and REALies will appear during the first day, and Dali, REALies, and Vior gloire will appear on the second day. Furthermore, Anjyu' will hold a revival performance during the second day.
UNDER CODE has announced a “new band compilation CD” featuring 朱 (SUZAKU), Cu[be], and Vior gloire! The CD, NEXT INNOVATORS, will be released in April and will feature one new song from all three bands. The official web shop privilege is a signed cheki of a member of your choice (from any of the three participating bands).
NEXT INNOVATORS 2012-04-11; 1,680 yen; new band compilation CD; limited pressing
01. 朱 (SUZAKU): (Unannounced new song)
02. Cu[be]: (Unannounced new song)
03. Vior gloire: (Unannounced new song)
To celebrate the release, the three bands will hold monthly sponsored events throughout 2012. This tour will culminate with a threeman featuring the three bands and some special session bands.
I'm super excited!! Kind of funny how Cu[be] is included while REALies and FUTURISM・BOYZ aren't, even though Cu[be] is older than. But I guess they can't help that they aren't as popular, ahaha~
Cu[be] and Vior gloire have announced that they've co-produced a free live event! The event is called U・C・P BLACK BATTLE and will be held on 2011-09-18 at HOLIDAY OSAKA—but it will be limited to 250 attendees only!
A secret guest called リアルライス (RIARURAISU) will appear at the event; this would presumably mean REALies, but the katakana version of their name is actually リアライズ (RIARAIZU)... So REALies might be appearing, but it could also be a different entity entirely (perhaps a session version of the band?). At any rate, here's the full lineup:
Glad to see these bands being active, Cu[be] especially. Now we just need SUZAKU to start doing stuff again... I really hope they get their act together ;(!
Vior gloire's first single has finally been listed at Amazon MP3, which means... samples!! (It also means, by the way, that this is another UNDER CODE release that us overseas fans can buy for like $2. So, if you can spare that amount of money, consider doing so!) You can listen to the samples below ↓
If you didn't notice, of the sorrow “C” is an SE track; it's kind of disappointing, but most maxi-singles are like this so it shouldn't be too surprising.
At any rate, I really liked the samples! I'm super excited to receive my copy. (By the way, the official release date is the 17th, but orders placed through the official web shop have already been sent!) Did any of you guys order the single already? Or plan to buy the MP3s? Have the samples affected your decision?
In my previous post about Vior gloire, I mentioned that they had sold special comment CD + polaroid sets at their first oneman live. Well, it seems that they had some left over, as limited quantities are now being sold through the official web shop!
The set costs 1,000 yen (as it did at the live), and, as I said, quantities are super limited, so hurry up and order if you want one! The item in question can be found here (as long as it's still in stock).
Vior gloire -
SPECIAL MESSAGE CD 2011-07-30; 1,000 yen; live-limited message CD + polaroid set; limited pressing ※ includes group polaroid 01. メッセージ (MESSAGE)
Vior gloire held their first oneman, 疑似カタストロフィー (Giji CATASTROPHE), at 心斎橋 (Shinsaibashi) FANJ-twice yesterday. Since I know we're all interested in them, I thought I'd share a few random details about the live:
RENA played upright bass again, and guitarist Kei actually played the violin!
アル (ARU) got to play a drum solo, which he was really happy about~
KISAKI took a picture during the live, check it out here.
The fans sent the band flowers before the show.
After the show, KISAKI went to dinner with Vior gloire, REALies, and 朱 (SUZAKU) members.
At the live, Vior gloire sold a signed comment CD + polaroid set for 1,000 yen. Those who bought the set were allowed to take a photo with the band.
The guys posted the setlist from the show:
2011-07-30 疑似カタストロフィー (Giji CATASTROPHE) 01. SE 02. リリアス・ソフィーと憂鬱 (LILIAS ・ SOPHIE to Yuuutsu) 03. Dispaire 04. 狂い果てた現実に見た世界 (Kurui Hateta Genjitsu ni Mita Sekai) 05. MC 06. 深蒼 (Miao) 07. Days of the regret 08. 悲しみの地に咲く花 (Kanashimi no Chi no Saku Hana) 09. ドラムソロ～インスト (DRUM SOLO ～ INSTRUMENTAL) 10. インスパイア (INSPIRE) 11. DEAD The CREATOR 12. MC 13. ヒスリック (HISURIKKU) 14. シオン (SHION) 15. Locus EN. ナキハ (NAIKHA) 17. END SE
If I counted correctly, that's six new songs from their sponsored event, and 12 total. So it seems that they'll definitely be avoiding E'm ~grief~ syndrome of releasing one song every two years. Let's hope so at least!
At any rate, I'm even more excited about these guys now. They already seem to have a clear musical direction, and it's nice to know that it (presumably) won't take us long to hear everything they have to offer. And I won't lie; the bass and violin gimmicks help!
Vior gloire held their debut live, Cocktail party, two days ago, and they were kind enough to post the setlist. (And by the way, the band announced that they'd distribute a present at the live—turns out the present was a logo sticker.) So let's check out all the songs they have so far, shall we?
2011-07-16 Cocktail party: 01. SE 02. 狂い果てた現実に見た世界 (Kurui Hateta Genjitsu ni Mita Sekai) 03. Dispaire 04. MC 05. インスパイア (INSPIRE) 06. Days of the regret 07. MC 08. リリアス・ソフィーと憂鬱 (LILIAS ・ SOPHIE to Yuuutsu) 09. ナキハ (NAKIHA) 10. END SE
I like the feel of the titles; they seem pretty interesting! And I guess they'll have even more at their upcoming oneman—I can't wait to hear all of these songs.
KISAKI recently announced at his ameba blog that Vior gloire's 1st Single will be released on 2011.08.17 It will be named 「インスパイア」 (inspired) Also ViorGloire will make their stage debut 2011.07.16 at Ikebukuro CYBER
Thanks to ViSULOG, we finally have some official announcements regarding Vior gloire! The band has announced its first release, its first live/sponsored event, and its first oneman. But let's start with their first official photo!
Notice that the costumes in this photo are completely different from the original picture that was secretly uploaded to the OHP. I have no idea why KISAKI would allow money to be wasted on two sets of costumes and two photoshoots—maybe the band changed its concept, or maybe they had a pre-formation lineup change? Well, whatever the case, that second lineup we found (ex. the one with RENA) is the official one.
Anyway, on to their first live details! Although we know the band has secretly done lives as Vior, it seems that their first official live will be a sponsored event in July. Later in the month, the band will hold their first oneman. An unspecified present will be freely distributed at both.
And finally, release information, alright! Vior gloire's first release will be a maxi-single, to be released in August. ...And that's it! Kind of a simple way to debut, but I guess it's my fault for expecting a lot after all the confusion about them. Anyway, details~
Vior gloire -
インスパイア (INSPIRE) 2011-08-17; 1,575 yen; maxi-single CD; sole pressing; UCCD-296 01. (Unannounced new song) 02. (Unannounced new song) 03. (Unannounced new song)
Tidbit: the name of SUGAR FORKFUL's first event was alsoCocktail Party. Rest in peace ;_;~
I still have so many questions about them: what is the point of Vior? do the two bands have truly different lineups, or just different member names? why wasn't the band revealed April 1st as planned? why did they spend money on new costumes and new photoshoots without ever revealing the first ones? why are you so angly? answer me my queltion!
Well, I guess we may never know the answers to all of Vior gloire's mysteries, but at least they seem cool. The new costumes look so much more professional than the last ones (even if less unique), and I'm super excited about their first release. What are your thoughts about everything?
For some time now (since Haunted Jealousy, to be exact), I've suspected that the band would switch to a Western-character spelling of their name, and it now seems that I may be right. So, I can't say for sure until the band officially revives, but, for now, signs point to them officially changing their name to NEGA.
Also, there's something up with that new band, Vior gloire, but I'm not exactly sure what.
When I discovered Vior gloire yesterday, I remembered the ex-brodiaea/ex-GRiST band, Vior, which was to open for an upcoming UCP show. One of you then found that Vior gloire had a different lineup listed, but because we recognized the ex-brodiaea/ex-GRiST guys, we figured that they'd all just changed their names for the new band.
However! When UNITED LINK for JAPAN VOL:2 was announced today, the appearing band was listed as just Vior again. Now, does this mean that I think that Vior and Vior gloire are two different bands, or that the members aren't who we thought they were? No. But I do think that UNDER CODE is making a distinction for some reason.
Honestly, it's probably as simple as not wanting to give anything away yet (remember, Vior gloire hasn't officially been announced—we just figured it out because we're grade A snoops!). But just for the sake of history and complete transparency, I wanted to emphasize that, technically, Vior ≠ Vior gloire.
(I'm ok with you thinking I'm crazy for caring about this stuff~)
UNDER CODE hasn't officially announced this one yet, but the second new band is called Vior gloire! (I suppose they were going for French, “see glory”?) As I said, they don't have a page up at the OHP yet, but this image was uploaded in a folder:
Edit: I just realized this is the “Vior” band that was opening for the Dali vs Megaromania twoman. Which means we already have member info!
Vocals: まひる (Mahiru) (ex-GRiST)
Guitar: ケイ (KEI) (ex-brodiaea)
Guitar: みつき (Mitsuki) (ex-GRiST)
Bass: シズク (SHIZUKU)
Drums: リョー (RYOO) (ex-LAGING)
Edit 2: Ok, found that they seem to be using different names (but it's still the same lineup as I posted—I think), and found their blogs! So updated lineup:
According to some bands' schedules, Vior gloire performed at UNITED LINK for JAPAN, but I don't know if that's actually the case or not. If not, it seems that their first live will be on 2011-05-05 at the Dali vs Megaromania show.
Ok, now that I've realized who they are, I'm really excited! Mahiru is a superb vocalist, and I like KEI a lot. Two ex-brodiaea new bands in one day, yay!
Also, I've made , but only as a placeholder. If you'd like to run the community, let me know!
Off topic 'cause this is more just bits of info for discussion~
2 new bands
Last time, I said that Vsoku had reported plans for 2 new UNDER CODE bands this year. I have no clue where they got that info—I thought they'd said it was from KISAKI's latest interview with Cure, but I can't find that anymore, and didn't notice any mention of new bands in the article—but Vsoku is trustworthy, so.
New band 赤
At any rate, one new band was already confirmed: 赤 (Aka). —and speaking of which, I emailed UNDER CODE to confirm the romanization (can't be too careful with one-character names), [2011-03-22 edit: the official romanization was later revealed to be Suzaku] and they said they won't reveal it until later. But anyway, aside from a name and live date, we know nothing about them.
New bands under way, totally fresh
Today, KISAKI updated his blog, saying that he'd held an interview about and had some meetings with the new bands. Promisingly, he said that they'll breathe new fresh air into UNDER CODE, hahaha.
3 new bands?!
The next line in that same post starts off “though it was 3 bands in quick succession...” Assuming that means he held meetings with three bands in a row, does that mean three bands are already planned to join UNDER CODE this year?! I could be misunderstanding, or he could have met with two new bands and one current one, but if it does mean three new bands, increíble! [2011-05-01 edit: yep, it was three new bands total; aside from 朱 (Suzaku), the remaining two were REALies and Vior gloire
Potential costume designs
Lastly, also in the same post, he uploaded a tiny picture of some official documents. Seems that two of them are prototype costume designs for the new bands? The one on top—I'm assuming 赤—seems really dark and kote-ish, which is awesome. The one on the bottom looks like DecoLa Hopping, which just confuses me. But I guess that would be fresh air, huh?
Oh, one final thing: there are only two costume designs. So does that mean no third band? Or the third is so new that it doesn't have costume designs yet? Or the design drawings aren't for the new bands at all? Hmm~
Whatever's going on, it's very mysterious and exciting, isn't it? Let's hear your thoughts!
