The show is over: PARANOID≠CIRCUS will disband

The show is over: PARANOID≠CIRCUS will disband

PARANOID≠CIRCUS, who had recently signed into the king zeebra label back in January, have announced that they will disband after their last live, "MERCY KILLER SHOW" on July 14 at OSAKA MUSE.

Apparently, there's issues between the members that first took form back in February when vocalist Garu jumped off a balcony and broke his toe during one of their lives. Sure everyone's saying that the toe broke the camel's back, but obviously there's more to their dissolution than they're letting on.

PARANOID≠CIRCUS vocalist injured

PARANOID≠CIRCUS vocalist injured

PARANOID≠CIRCUS has cancelled their February 23rd live at Shibuya (渋谷) REX, due to vocalist Garu (我儿) fracturing his heel bone.

During the band's February 14th live at Shinsaibashi (心斎橋) FANJ twice, Garu (我儿) apparently leapt from the second floor balcony, and fractured his left heel bone upon landing. For now, only one live is being cancelled while he heals, but others may be cancelled in the future.

Btw, you can see where he jumped from (red balcony, in the back right of the photo) in this tweet from some random musician:

Kentz (ex-chariots, etc) passes away

On 2017-02-08, at 01:16, Kentz (ケンツ) passed away. He had been battling cancer for 5 years.

Kentz was drummer in the bands Le:view, Mars, Lusus, Sepia, 「Aya」 (「あゃ」), TONE NOTE (トオンノヲト), and GeNe. He also acted as support drummer for vellaDonna and chariots. Most recently, he had acted as roadie for La'cryma Christi drummer LEVIN, and had founded his own label, Candy Vox Music.

Kentz knew that his cancer was terminal, but he lived much longer than initial prognoses forecasted.

In 2012, he held his “life's last live”, which was sponsored by KISAKI and UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. Details about the event can be found here and here.

More details on FAZ ex-drummer TAKAHIRO's arrest
More details on FAZ ex-drummer TAKAHIRO's arrest

As we reported last week, FAZ drummer TAKAHIRO was arrested by Osaka police, which prompted the band to pause activities later on next year.

Since then, more details on his arrest have now poured in to national news. According to Sankei WEST, TAKAHIRO was arrested for attempting to scam a 76 year old woman out of 6 million yen (~500,000 US dollars). He confessed to the crime and admitted that he was getting the money for the band.

Not surprisingly, the band ended up firing TAKAHIRO altogether, and another woman, who revealed herself to be TAKAHIRO's sister, would then apologize on Twitter on behalf of her brother; her account was then quickly deleted afterwards.

FAZ drummer arrested, indefinite activity pause, and other woes

FAZ drummer TAKAHIRO (a.k.a. Hiyoka (卑妖華), ex-WERKMARE) has been arrested, and the band will indefinitely pause activities in consequence.

Previously, TAKAHIRO had missed the band's 2016-11-28 performance at SHIBUYA-REX. At the time, the band confirmed with one of his acquaintances that he was “safe,” but they [wrongly] assumed that he was just sick--in reality, he had already been arrested.

The reason for TAKAHIRO's arrest is unknown.

-

FAZ has had other trouble in recent months:

Around October, vocalist ToshiA began experiencing strange foot pain, but was allowed by his doctor to continue performing. However, due to his condition worsening, ToshiA was ordered to stop performing on November 1st. As such, the band performed without a vocalist for the remainder of the month, and indefinitely postponed the planned release of parts 4 and 5 of their 5-consecutive-month release campaign (a single and mini-album, respectively).

On November 20th, ToshiA revealed that he'd been diagnosed with ankylosin spondylitis (chronic inflammation of certain joints, sometimes severe). He was therefore ordered to undergo inpatient treatment at a hospital, which is where he's been ever since.

Yesterday, while still in the hospital, ToshiA received news that TAKAHIRO had actually been arrested, and so he made the decision to indefinitely pause FAZ's activities.

-

FAZ has five shows scheduled for upcoming months, and they still plan to perform, albeit with only 3 members (unless ToshiA is ok'd to return). Their last live will be on February 6th at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU, and then they'll indefinitely pause activities.

In his personal comment, guitarist SHINYA says that they will definitely return in some form, but the other members don't seem as confident.

No word has been given about their planned single and mini-album release (which had already been delayed due to ToshiA's illness), but I wouldn't be surprised if they were cancelled altogether.

Since I never formally introduced them here, here's a bit about the band's lineage:

In 1999, vocalist ToshiA formed Fazism, which was signed to indie label Soleil--the same label under which the fledgling MIRAGE had formed. When MIRAGE bassist/leader KISAKI formed his own label, Matina, Fazism followed. (Matina actually started as a sublabel of Soleil, and then became independent.)

Soon after, Fazism gained an additional member and changed its name to Philia. The following year, vocalist ToshiA formed his own Sapporo (札幌)-based Matina sublabel, STORM, to which -I's- and allure idea were signed. Eventually, though, Matina dissolved, STORM dissolved, and Philia disbanded.

Cut to summer 2012, and original Fazism members ToshiA, SHINYA, and KATSUHISA formed the new band FAZ. Thus, FAZ is, in essence, the “second part” (or third!) of Fazism--their early releases even contain some Fazism covers!

Hopefully they'll continue in some form, as guitarist SHINYA says they will.

Marco live appearance cancellation + member absence

Little update on Marco's live schedule:

  • Their live on December 17 will be cancelled due to "various cirucmstances".
  • Guitarist Rutta will not be able to attend their New Years live on December 31 due to family reasons.
  • Originally, they were going to play at 3 venues for their New Year lives, but that has since been reduced to only 2 - HOLIDAY SHINJUKU and Ikebukuro CYBER. Details tba.
  • Vocalist Rei session band, MARUWO (マルヲ) will perform as the opening act of KALAVINKA (カラビンカ)/nüe/THE VELVET threeman live at 下北沢MOSAiC on December 24.

Although they've been quiet recently, the band are booked up until March 2017, so there's nothing to worry about...for right now. ;w;

remembrance performed

remembrance and Crucifixion performed at an event on 2016-11-05.

The event, The first half is over, was held at Shinsaibashi (心斎橋) JUZA in celebration of 10 years of band activity for drummer Jura (樹蘭) [ex-GRiST, remembrance, JOKER, etc.].

-

For those who don't remember, remembrance was formed by ex-Vior gloire vocalist shall (シャル), shortly before he replaced CO- as the vocalist of FUTURISM・BOYZ.

Although the band never planned to be very active, their activity was lessened even more by shall's accident in August 2015: while crossing a crosswalk, a sleepy driver struck him. He suffered injuries all along his left side, especially in his shoulder area (for which he had to attend rehab for several days each week, for several months).

shall has been fairly inactive since then, so it's nice to see that remembrance is playing again.

KISAKI PROJECT feat.Hitomi *will* perform

KISAKI has finally broken his radio silence: this morning he tweeted that KISAKI PROJECT feat.Hitomi will perform in December, and that he's sorry for the trouble he caused.

Understandably, Japanese Twitter users are responding with "I'm so glad!" and "How dare you?!" in equal measure, lol.

KISAKI's fanbase has surely shrunk because of this incident, and I can't blame anyone who doesn't forgive him... But I'm still happy to see him continue.

KISAKI retires(?) due to scandal [UPDATED]

TLDR: KISAKI was caught in a scandal today, and seems to have abruptly retired as a result... Full details, as I understand them, follow:

This morning, a Tanuki-related Twitter account posted screenshots of KISAKI contacting them via direct message. In the DMs, KISAKI shared photos of a text conversation between ex-MIRAGE guitarist YAYOI and a female, in which he asked her for sex. The DMs were dated September 18th, implying that KISAKI acquired the photos on the same day that he performed with YAYOI at the GLAM POP WORLD event.

-

Some time later, KISAKI sent another DM to the Tanuki Twitter account, this time with a photo of ex-Megaromania ~ LIN vocalist SUI passed out drunk, with vomit coming out of his mouth. The unbecoming photo was supposed to ensure that the Tanuki Twitter account wouldn't expose KISAKI's previous action.

-

Unsurprisingly, the SUI “bargaining chip” didn't stop the Twitter account from exposing KISAKI: on September 26th, details of the DMs were leaked to Tanuki.

That same morning, KISAKI's account was locked, and a message appeared saying “This Twitter was takeover,” implying that the account had been hacked.

After “regaining” access a short time later, KISAKI messaged the Tanuki Twitter account again, this time explaining that his own account had been hacked, and that he didn't mean for the messages about YAYOI/SUI to be sent. He pleaded with the account to take down its evidence of KISAKI's previous messages, and even said that police were being involved.

After a bit of playing with KISAKI's emotions, the Tanuki Twitter account agreed.

-

On the morning of September 27th, KISAKI tweeted an apology over the trouble he'd caused, and promised to do better from now on.

Unsatisfied with the vague, unspecific apology, the Tanuki Twitter account reneged on its agreement and began sharing screenshots of all its DMs with KISAKI. These proved that he had sent the photos of YAYOI/SUI to the account.

The screenshots were deleted mere minutes later, but the scandal had already easily spread through Twitter. “KISAKI” even trending at #7 for a brief time.

-

After being completely exposed, KISAKI tweeted another apology. This time, he said he had contacted the individuals involved and apologized directly. He said that what he'd done was inexcusable, and, as punishment to himself, would not return to the stage.

That is to say, if he stays true to the tweet, KISAKI will never perform again.

-

KISAKI PROJECT feat.Hitomi was scheduled to perform at the December 16th debut live of Lack-co., but KISAKI has already called Rame (ex-VIDOLL bassist who runs record label GLK MUSIC, which is sponsoring the live) and asked to cancel it.

Rame tweeted that he wants the live to be held despite the scandal, but that he was unable to convince KISAKI to change his mind. He says he'll continue to try to talk to KISAKI, whose “mental state seems very unstable right now.”

Frankly, KISAKI is not only incredibly childish to have shared the pictures of YAYOI/SUI, but he's also incredibly stupid for having done it from his own account. That being said, I personally don't find his actions to be so reprehensible as to justify his abrupt retirement. He should perhaps lose YAYOI and SUI as friends, and he should definitely remedy his behavior, but to end his career over such a childish scandal is too much.

As a fan, it's incredibly frustrating to see him do stupid things, get caught, and then essentially punish those who stick around. We know he does bad things, but we just want music. These dramatics aren't going to convince those who dislike him to forgive him, so why bother? If I had my way, he would sincerely apologize for his behavior and move on, instead of trying to hide by disbanding/retiring every time a scandal is exposed. But maybe that's just the Japanese way?

-

Given KISAKI's age, the failure of LIN, and now this scandal, I really wouldn't be surprised if he retires for real this time... And even if he does return, this scandal will surely mean that we'll be waiting many extra months...

I sincerely hope that his peers and [remaining] fans are able to convince to come back―soon.

Updates

  • 2016-09-28: A supposed lawyer tweeted to KISAKI and claimed that he was representing SUI and YAYOI in a lawsuit. The company that the man claimed to work for is real, but their website had a message warning that someone had been impersonating their lawyers. The Twitter account was later found (obviously) to be a scam by a bangya.
  • 2016-09-28: Rame made two more tweets about the situation. They seem to imply that he'd since seen more evidence of KISAKI's scandal, but that he was still willing to allow the live to take place if KISAKI changed his mind.
  • 2016-09-28: The vocalist of Ryuketsu BLIZZARD tweeted about the incident, seemingly finding it hilarious. It's unclear if he still has a relationship with KISAKI, since finding that Ryuketsu BLIZZARD footage was being sold at auction in the past.
  • 2016-09-29: KISAKI deleted his auction account.
  • 2016-10-01: Several Japanese users tweeted to KISAKI that he should kill/torture himself, along with suggestions how.
  • 2016-10-02: A daily horoscope was tweeted from KISAKI's account. (Some users thought this meant that his account had truly been hacked, but in fact he'd signed up for the Twimaker horoscope service several years ago.) Incidentally, one of the characters in the tweet could be read as "revival," so some users joked that he was announcing his return.
  • 2016-10-03: The horoscope tweet was deleted, which means that KISAKI had logged into his account (eg. first evidence that KISAKI is "ok").
  • 2016-10-05: KISAKI deleted his latest blog entry, in which he had mentioned having a meeting and feeling excitement for future activities. He had also mentioned receiving Gargoyle and MEJIBRAY releases. It's unclear why this particular entry was deleted, and all other entries seem to be in tact. (Perhaps one of the bands' companies did not want to be associated with him? Or perhaps he wanted to delete any reference to future activity, which is now cancelled?)
  • 2016-10-06: KISAKI's Instagram account was deleted.

The Tanuki thread about KISAKI is still incredibly active (up to page 16 as of Oct 6), tho it's mostly jokes about his teeth at this point.

ARLEQUIN vocalist Aki to pause activities
ARLEQUIN vocalist Aki (暁) will temporarily cease performing due vocal nodules.

He went to the doctor today (the 27th) complaining of throat pains. (Apparently, Aki had felt problems beginning in February, but refrained from doing anything about it due to not wanting to jeopardize the band's building success.) The doctor's diagnosis was inflammation of the vocal cords due to overexertion while singing. As such, Aki has been instructed to refrain from singing for one month. He will be absent from the band's upcoming oneman lives, beginning on 2016-07-02 and through their 2016-07-27.

The other 4 members will perform on those dates―and in typical fashion, requests for refunds will not be honored (lol).

I hope he'll get better soon, and that he'll work with a trainer to develop less harmful vocal techniques!

LIN made this post when the mistake first happened. And if I understand correctly, they said they sent two S-class tickets to the person whose tickets had been lost. Except the person actually received two A-class tickets, so they were pissed. (I think?) Cut to this apology post where they promise to fix it.

Imo who the fuck cares, but I understand that this is important to some people, so I hope it's resolved in a way such that all parties are happy. ('ω')ノ

UCP session band, Rame in an ambulance, & upcoming reunion?

UNDER CODE PRODUCTION session band Shingen Kichi SPECIAL ~PERMANENT BAND~ (神言基地SPECIAL ~パーマネントバンド~) successfully completed its live at Abeno ROCKTOWN. They played several staples of Kisaki & Kansai Kizoku setlists:

V. Rame [ex-VIDOLL] / B. KISAKI [LIN] / G. MIZALY [LIN] / G. SAN [ex-NEGA] / D. TERO [ex-VIDOLL]

-SE-
1. WAISETSU Ningyou (ワイセツ人形) [VIDOLL cover]
2. Pixy false [Phantasmagoria cover]
-MC-
3. Freedom [LIN cover]
4. Tree [VIDOLL cover]
5. Kamiuta (神 歌) [Phantasmagoria cover]
-ENCORE-
6. WAISETSU Ningyou (ワイセツ人形) [VIDOLL cover]

Unfortunately, it seems that, after the live, Rame left in an ambulance D:! But he says it was only due to expending too much energy during the live―he's fine now.

---

On a related note, it seems that KISAKI, Jui [VIDOLL/GOTCHAROCKA], JUN [Phantasmagoria/GOTCHAROCKA], and Rame [VIDOLL/Black Gene For the Next Scene] did a photography/interview session with each other yesterday?! I guess it's for some upcoming magazine, probably... hopefully something really good!
VARYL will disband + guitarist Juri will retire
Sad announcement for VARYL fans - VARYL will disband after their oneman live at Takadanobaba AREA on January 8, 2016.

The disbandment comes on the same day that guitarist 樹璃 (Juri) will depart and retire for "family reasons", and the band can't continue without him. Recently, Juri has suffered a number of health issues to the point where he was abruptly transported to the hospital while on his way to the studio. According to his blog, he was suffering from acute dizziness, nausea, cramping of his hands and feet, and also a worsening case of tinnitus and a severe headache - all reaching up to the possibility of Ménière's disease, an ear disease that affects hearing and balance.

A very tragic - and sudden - way to go...my thoughts go out to Juri. Hopefully the rest of the guys will continue on with band activities, this group was truly short-lived.

UPDATE: Guitarist Juri has departed early on September 16, 2015, due to his worsening condition caused by Ménière's disease, his father announced today.

Another update: Juri's departure is now questionable, as the rest of the band are waiting for a direct response from Juri himself about his departure. They hope he will be able to participate at their last oneman.
[Quick update] Cecir (ex-E'm ~grief~) will NOT be participating in CERO (LIN) session
Cecir (ex-E'm ~grief~) will no longer be able to participate in Cero (LIN)'s birthday event, Here's looking at me, kid VOL:2, this year due to family reasons. This also means he will not be able to perform on guitar for Cero's session band...(hope Cero finds a replacement!)

Paranoid≠circuS buffalo returns
Paranoid≠circuS buffalo (drummer) Kizuna (紲) will resume activities at the band's 2015-07-10 sponsored event. He had been absent from the band since February to allow a hernia to heal.

http://weloveucp.com/lives/59/
CARAT disbandment live postponed
CARAT has postponed their last live, which was scheduled for 2015-04-03, due to vocalist Yuuji。 (ゆーじ。) being involved in an unspecified accident which has fractured his jaw. In such a condition, it's impossible for him to sing, so the live will be rescheduled to some time in the summer of this years. Details TBA once they're decided.
the:Ø webshop down
the:Ø's web shop has been temporarily closed, apparently due to fraudulent activities. If I understand correctly, someone was placing orders using the name and address of someone who didn't want any items, resulting in the band spending large amounts of money on shipping, etc. The band is currently investigating whether or not to involve the police and how to move forward.

That being said, although the band had mentioned that their mini-album would be sold through the web shop, it never appeared in the days after their last live, so I guess that's no longer happening. Also, the band said that they will accept orders from overseas, as long as those customers can wire money via bank transfer. But as I said, the mini-album isn't for sale there, and the shop is temporarily(?) closed anyway...
Update on deceased LIN staff
As I guessed, it was Shirakawa Yoshihisa (白川 善久), of white Great wall, sound advisor to LIN, who passed away.

KISAKI has edited his blog entry about the matter a bit... but the bits regarding the band are more or less the same. Basically, in my interpretation of the post, LIN is not going on hiatus or disbanding as lots of people are saying. However, they were in the middle of recording an unannounced release with Shirakawa, and that release has been effectively cancelled. All activities related to that release (new costumes, event lives, etc.) have been postponed as well.

Unless something happens, the band will still decide on a new release in some months; it will just take longer than anticipated. And until then, all live appearances should continue. So, it's not really that dire for the band.
LIN staff member passes away
From cryptic entries posted by KISAKI, SUI, and MIZALY, it appears that a member of LIN's sound production team has passed away.

None of the entries actually say who it was, but it was someone who was “indispensable to LIN's sound” and who had worked with KISAKI for about 5 years now on LIN and KISAKI PROJECT releases. I wonder if it was their sound advisor from great White wall...

Unfortunately, LIN has cancelled recording on whatever they were planning to release.

Tatoeba Konna Hanashi updates
Tatoeba Konna Hanashi updates

  • Guitarist Niwa Kousuke (仁和 恒介) temporarily paused band activities on 2014-09-21 due to his spontaneous pneumothorax (自然気胸). He was able to return on 2014-10-29―however, on 2014-11-30 his symptoms reappeared and so the band will continue with only 3 members for now.
  • Vocalist Sanada Ren (真田 廉) mentioned in his locked blog post that he wonders if guitarist Niwa Kousuke will return at all... Niwa Kousuke might be demoted to support member only, or replaced with support members, as the band needs at least one guitarist.
  • Sanada Ren also mentioned that the band's first anniversary oneman on 2015-02-21 is not selling very well.
  • Beginning on 2014-11-20, those who reserved tickets for 2014-12-21 twoman received demo + bonus track CD-R will be sold.
  • 5,000 yen purchase privilege on 2014-11-30 was comment DVD-R or 2014-11-12 live DVD-R.
  • At 2014-12-02 live at Ash OSAKA, customers who spent 5,000 yen could receive 2014-10-30 live DVD or 2014-11-12 live DVD. New photosets were also sold there.
  • Their December stampcard campaign began on 2014-12-02. Those who receive 5 stamps (go to 5 lives) within the month will receive a new song demo CD-R. Those who receive 6 stamps will receive hatsumoude (初詣)―I guess there will be a band + fan trip to a shrine in 2015.
KISAKI's fracture
KISAKI fractured his foot at a recent LIN (凛 -THE END OF CORRUPTION WORLD-) live, and it will take about a 1½ months to heal. LIN will be very busy lately, but it seems that KISAKI plans to push through the pain.

By the way, KISAKI also mentioned that LIN are doing photography for something today.
ISORA guitarist fired
Seems that ISORA (イソラ) is a “bad luck band” too. Guitarist 空-ciel missed a live recently due to his acute sickness. After that, he had informed the members that he would need to be hospitalized longer. However, he stopped contact with the members days after that―and so they've fired him.

ISORA is now a 2-member band, by the way...! Good luck!
Oneness guitarist DAI returns
You might remember, Oneness guitarist DAI disappeared from the other members last month. Oneness has announced that DAI will return to the band on 2014-08-03 at their instore event.

The band has also announced that they will embark on Double River Record × KING OF KINGDOM (キングオブキングダム) label-coupling tour, Shuryou Kaikin! (狩猟解禁!), on 2014-10-09.
ISORA guitarist sick, misses live
ISORA (イソラ) guitarist 空-ciel is sick and, on doctor's orders, will be unable to appear at the bassist Kizuna (絆) birthday live today. ciel's session which was scheduled to appear at the event has been cancelled, and ISORA will perform without him.

Luckily, it doesn't sound like he's been afflicted with anything serious and he should return to the stage soon.

YUUZE (ex-E'm ~grief~) has passed away
YUUZE (ユーゼ) of E'm ~grief~ has passed away on February 15.

YUUZE, real name 久保田 慶 (Kubota Kei) and previously known as Shino (紫乃), and had been a member of LA VALLIERE, CANARY, Vice†risk, La'miss fairy, Juka, and E'm ~grief~. Since 2013, he had been offering his services as a freelance producer/player via EXCEL ENTERTAINMENT.

His cause of death has not been revealed, but comments on VKDB from last month mention cancer, and it seems that he had officially retired from music shortly before passing.

A flower ceremony and mourning event will be held for YUUZE on 2014-04-26 at Birth Shinjuku. All fans and supporters are encouraged to come, and admission is free. Chief mourner will be family member 久保田 正廣 (Kubota Masahiro), and members of YUUZE's former bands will attend.

ARLEQUIN (アルルカン) guitarist Kuruto (來堵) injured himself at a recent live, and has been diagnosed with a torn ACL. At recommendation of his doctor, Kuruto will temporarily pause live activities, and ARLEQUIN will perform with only 4 members for their upcoming lives.

ex-chariots support drummer KENTZ (who you may know from his “final stage” which was sponsored by UNDER CODE, due to his terminal cancer) has announced the creation of his own record label: Candy Vox Music!

The label is a joint venture with ViViD roadie Takeshi, and has has already announced its first three sets of two-day sponsored events: First Impression, Second Impression, and Third Impression. ex-SIVA band gaNesha will appear at one of the events and KENTZ will hold his own session band at another. Earlier this year, KENTZ also released a digital book! The book, 5 Do no DISCORD (5度のディスコード), was released on 2013-03-27, and features a fictional account of the drama that unfolds after visual kei band “Blanc de Vibert” disbands due to the death of one of its members. Although the story is fictional, it's based on KENTZ' years of experience in visual kei bands (Le:view, Mars, Lusus, Sepia, 「Aya」, chariots, etc.).

5 Do no DISCORD is available on Amazon JP through their Kindle app, and is currently only 99 yen. The writer is listed as 西風希祥, and the total length is about 110 pages.

As far as KENTZ' health is concerned, he had recently stated that he seemed to be recovering... but, unfortunately, a later post said that his cancer seemed to have spread. Still, he seems to be in good spirits, and with his new label and session band, it seems that he's refused to give up. KENTZ posts daily to his blog and is now also on Twitter as well:

Taku MEMORIAL DAY report

The memorial event for ex-HEISEI ISHIN (平成維新) vocalist Taku (拓), who passed away two years ago, was just held on December 10th. It seems that the event was memorable and went really well. I thought I'd share the setlists and a few pictures from the event, just as a little reminder of Taku (whose birthday will be tomorrow, December 13th!).

  • N@HN@H is the “second stage” of HEISEI ISHIN, formed by members YUKKIE (ユッキー) and RAI (ライ). They're quite good, and enjoying success right now!
    01. Prism. (HEISEI ISHIN cover)

  • OnenessOneness is the new band of ex-Anjyu' (former band of HEISEI ISHIN bassist yoshi) vocalist JUKI (ジュキ). This was their first live!

    01. Kakera (破片) (HEISEI ISHIN cover)

  • Enya Tomoyuki (塩谷 朋之) ※ He's a member of 12012, which was a label-mate of HEISEI ISHIN. He performed as a solo project, but was backed on guitar and drums by members of JILLED RAY (the drummer of which was in Taku's first band).
    01. Endless voyage (HEISEI ISHIN cover)

  • HEISEI ISHIN (平成維新) ※ The 4 members appeared in HEISEI ISHIN's last costumes (from the REVOLUTIONS era), along with a large picture of Taku as the backdrop. For most songs, they played with Taku's recording―but in the middle, Taku's brother Kinari (生成) provided vocals for a few songs!! According to the members, his vocals and physical movements were strikingly similar.

HEISEI ISHIN memorial live details

As I previously mentioned, HEISEI ISHIN (平成维新) will revive for one day in memorial of vocalist Taku's death in 2010. Full details of the live have since been revealed:

The live is sponsored by HEISEI ISHIN (平成维新) with support by UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. In addition to HEISEI ISHIN and its continuation N@H, some old colleagues of Taku from UNDER CODE PRODUCTION will appear: FUTURISM・BOYZ, CARAT (カラット) (ex-ClearVeil), and Enya Tomoyuki (塩谷 朋之) (12012).

HEISEI ISHIN Taku memorial live

It seems that HEISEI ISHIN will hold a one day revival!

Bassist yoshi has just announced through his blog that HEISEI ISHIN will perform on December 10th to commemorate vocalist Taku's passing on that day in 2010. yoshi also says that it will be the last performance as HEISEI ISHIN. Remaining details will be posted here as they're announced.
Update on KISAKI's hospitalization

KISAKI has been released from the hospital! After being taken in for emergency surgery on the 12th, KISAKI has finally been given doctor's permission to leave. Furthermore, KISAKI says that he is well enough to perform, so 凛 -the end of corruption world- (LIN) will appear at today's 2012-07-17 event as scheduled.
KISAKI hospitalized
Yesterday morning, KISAKI awoke to pain and repeated vomiting of blood due to his long standing condition of internal ulcers. He has been taken to the hospital and will receive emergency surgery today. His doctor has ordered a stop to KISAKI's activities for the time being, and as such, he will not appear at today's planned live with 凛 -the end of corruption world- (LIN). Any changes or updates to his condition will be shared here.
Update on Kentz' last stage...
As previously mentioned, UNDER CODE is supporting ex-「あゃ」 (「Aya」) [and ex-chariots support] drummer 兼継 (Kentz) by sponsoring his “last stage” events. It turns out that “last stage” doesn't just refer to musical retirement...

Through a press release, Kentz has revealed that he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He wants to take the stage one last time to, quite literally, celebrate the last stage of his life. Below is a rough translation of his statement:

I've come to understand that I have terminal cancer, and I decided I wanted to return to the stage in my short remaining life, so I talked with the ex-「Aya」 members about a revival live.
Each member, despite his current activities, willingly agreed and so we set about determining the details.

It crossed my mind that I was with chariots two years ago.
Since this will probably be my life's last live, I thought chariots should by all means appear and suggested this idea to KISAKI, who agreed.

At first I intended to produce the event myself, but since I didn't have any experience I found it difficult to book a lineup, and so I contacted KISAKI (who has considerable experience with event production) and he agreed to arrange everything.
For KISAKI's willing agreement, I am truly grateful.

KISAKI has been involved in many crossroads in my life.
Back when 「Aya」 was expanding through Kantou, whenever we had office problems, he constantly invited us to chariots lives and always kindly gave us advice.

And now, with my cancer battle, he tells me “don't give up”.
In that way my respect for KISAKI has grown considerably, and for his help producing my last live, I am truly grateful.

After all of this, I consider him an older brother.

Everyone, please come to my life's last stage and burn the images into your eyes and commit them to happy memory.

(Kentz)

---

And KISAKI adds “I've decided to support Kentz, a valued junior who is in the middle of fighting an illness, through his life's LAST STAGE. Everyone, please lend your support.
http://ameblo.jp/undercode-kisaki/entry-11170327897.html

Very sad. This news really changes the meaning of the live, doesn't it? Let's pray for Kentz and wish him a final period filled with happiness. Good luck Kentz!
SELFISH DREAMER with Anjyu'
UNDER CODE is sponsoring an event for 兼継 (Kentz), ex drummer of 「あゃ」 (「Aya」) and chariots, as he retires from the music scene. (I mentioned this live in a previous post, but full details have since been revealed.)

The live is called SELFISH DREAMER with DEAR FRIENDS and will take place on April 21st and 28th. At both lives, 「あゃ」 (「Aya」) will hold a revival performance, and chariots will appear as a friendship guest. Furthermore, NEGA and REALies will appear during the first day, and Dali, REALies, and Vior gloire will appear on the second day. Furthermore, Anjyu' will hold a revival performance during the second day.

[Archived] Taku part 2
As promised, here's the entry about Taku that I really wanted to post. I also discovered that TAKAFUMI wrote a small entry related to Taku, so I'll post that one first.

2011-12-10

A lot of time has passed in an instant.
What can change over one year?
Is it possible to grow a little?

Is one able to change?

2011-12-10

Today, December 10th, marks exactly one year since Taku of HEISEI ISHIN passed away.

The time passed quickly.

Taku would occasionally send me images of design ideas,
drawn roughly by himself;
I still have many of these sketches left.

I'd been asked to post them at this blog,
but because of his death,
I couldn't bring myself to do it for a long time.

But since today is the 1st anniversary of his death, in memorial to Taku, I want to finally exhibit them.

I consulted with HEISEI ISHIN leader Yoshi and got permission to do so.

Taku would make the rough sketch → take a picture with his phone → mail it to me
As per this procedure, in the images below, you're seeing Taku's hand at work.

By seeing this work, I hope that you'll remember him.

[Archived] HEISEI ISHIN Taku
Just wanted to post a couple of blog posts about HEISEI ISHIN vocalist Taku's death (December 10th was the one year anniversary, and December 13th would have been his 23rd birthday.)

As usual, take these with a grain of salt. Actually, just go ahead and assume I made them up completely.

Bassist 善 (yoshi) posted this on December 10th, the anniversary of Taku's death. By the way, he recently changed his profile picture back to one from HEISEI ISHIN days ;(

December 10th
2011-12-10

I went to Taku's house.

It's been a year since then

I appreciate everyone's thoughts.

Today I'm thinking of Taku, but tomorrow I'll move on

Even though it feels like I'm moving step by step, pointlessly.

Even though it's tiring and unpleasant at times, I'll fight on!!

Tomorrow is HEISEI ISHIN's spiritual successor N@H's first live.

I met and shared feelings with YUKKIE and RAI today; they're really full of hope!!

Good luck☆

HEISEI ISHIN is unrivaled

See you (・д・)ノ

善 (yoshi) posted this one on Taku's birthday (his death was just a few days before...). By the way, there was a running joke with him about cheese fondue.

It's Taku's birthday

Everyone eat cheese fondue (laugh)

Ah, it seems YUKKIE and RAI's first live was a success!! (・д・)ノ

I really hope so

I got their music, it's really cool☆

This year is ending soon; it was in the blink of an eye (laugh)

There may be little of this year left, but let's enjoy it!!

HOLIDAY NAGOYA manager posted this one on Taku's death anniversary. SWIMMY was HEISEI ISHIN's main song.

Is that so... It's been a year already...

Really fast~

I can still hear SWIMMY...

KISAKI posted this one on the 10th.

2011-12-10

December 10th..... HEISEI ISHIN Taku's death first anniversary.

They're not leaving Taku behind, but on the 10th YUKKIE and RAI's HEISEI ISHIN time ends, and on the 11th their new band N@H begins a new period.

We've all inherited a little part of Taku; we absolutely won't forget you.

There's one other really cool entry that I'm going to post here, but it's too late right now.

[Archived] Lin one year anniversary live cancelled
There should be an official message from UNDER CODE PRODUCTION about this soon, but I thought I would post an update for anyone who might be interested... Lin had to cancel their one year anniversary live today due to problems with a smoke effect they had. They got through all the session bands and they were just playing the first song, and they had to stop and get everyone out.

It's very sad, and I'm just hoping KISAKI-san doesn't get too stressed out because of this, with his health and everything...
[Archived] SUZAKU's bassist hospitalized
朱 (SUZAKU) bassist 時雨 (Shigure) was hospitalized on Friday due to a sudden illness. At the UNITED LINK for JAPAN VOL:2 live yesterday, guitarist 鴉 (Karasu) acted as bassist, and a support member will be found for future lives.

Really sucks for them! Hopefully Shigure doesn't end up leaving (or worse) because it would be a pretty big blow to lose two members so early. And SUZAKU is a really promising band, so they better not break up!

[Archived] UNITED LINK for JAPAN VOL:2 addition
An additional band has been added to the lineup of UNITED LINK for JAPAN VOL:2: リミット (LIMIT). Oh, and by the way, since I didn't mention it in the last post: this second volume is not free like the first event was.

There are 3 special details regarding the event:

  • A secret band will be announced on 2011-04-24

[Archived] UNITED LINK for JAPAN live event
As I mentioned earlier this month, UNDER CODE PRODUCTION announced a charity concert to benefit victims of the recent earthquake in Japan. Today, UCP revealed the first round of information regarding the event.

The charity concert, UNITED LINK for JAPAN, will be held on April 30th, simultaneously at OSAKA MUSE and BIG CAT. Entry is free, although I presume donations will be taken at the venue. Over 30 bands will participate, and the first half were announced today. The rest of the participating bands will be announced on 2011-04-15.

Tickets are free, and you can get them one of two ways. First, priority tickets will be given to anyone who purchases 2,500 yen worth of goods from the official web shop between 2011-04-15 and 2011-04-22. Those with priority tickets will be given a limited edition wristband at the live house, which will allow the wearer to get free drinks and to leave and re-enter the live houses. Second,  normal tickets will be distributed at the live houses on the day of the live, but they are limited in number, and those with normal tickets will only be allowed to re-enter once.

UNDER CODE will also be selling some earthquake support charity items at the official web shop, but I'll make a separate post for those~

[Archived] Off topic: raffle/donation saga
My PayPal account has been put on hold again, because I'm apparently not allowed to take donations either. So although I'm still grateful, I'm refunding all donations, and I'll just write off the $25 as a CD that I'll miss out on.

[Archived] Raffle suspended
I was just contacted by PayPal and told that this community's raffle violated their TOS, and my account could be closed because of it. So to prevent that from happening, I've removed mention of them from the original post and temporarily suspended the raffle.

I'd like to continue the raffle somehow, but it's clear that I can't just sell tickets via PayPal. So if the raffle is continued, it will be in some other form. I haven't been able to catch rave_andou yet, but I suppose she and I will come to a decision soon.

If we do continue the raffle, all current entrants will still be in the drawing. If we cancel the raffle, everyone will be given a full refund, so please don't worry about that. And if you wish to receive a refund now, regardless of future plans, just contact me and I can do that for you.

---

It makes sense that PayPal would be against raffles, but I didn't think about it before hand (and, honestly, how the fuck did they find out?!). So my bad guys, but man I'm disappointed.

Suggestions :/?

2011-03-29 edit: We've decided to hold a donation drive in lieu of the raffle, and to freely give out items that were originally intended for the raffle. Please see this post for details.

[Archived] UNDER CODE charity event
Although the details haven't been decided yet, UNDER CODE has announced that it will hold a charity event to benefit the earthquake victims! The event is called UNITED LINK for JAPAN, and will be held simultaneously at two live houses on 2011-04-30. The event will be free to enter, although there will presumably be a donation box. Again, no specifics have been decided, but from watching blogs, it seems that most of the UCP bands will be participating.

I'm not really sure about this part, but it seemed that Arc had a hand in organizing this; they had been planning a oneman for that day, but pushed it back so this event could be held instead. They are awesome!

(details TBA)

I didn't post about it beforehand, but 凛 -the end of corruption world- (Lin) has actually already participated in an earthquake charity event. Sadie had a oneman scheduled for 2011-03-18, but pushed it back so that they could sponsor a charity event instead. Sadie's event, pray for our japan, was held at なんば (Nanba) Hatch. It was free to enter, but donations were collected to be sent to help victims of the earthquake. 凛 -the end of corruption world- (Lin) appeared (with special costumes) along with Sadie, GNz-WORLD, and others.

UNDER CODE PRODUCTION donation project: from now until 2011-04-30, proceeds from sales at the official web shop will go to help victims of the recent earthquake. A shopping service is required to order; if you're unsure how to do this, please refer to this community's shopping guide, or contact me directly and I'll help you.

[Archived] Official web shop limited exclusives
These have already sold out, so forgive me, but I figured I should post about them for history's sake. The UNDER CODE PRODUCTION official web shop recently put up a few special, very limited items for sale. First, cheki featuring KISAKI and members of Nega, members of CindyKate, VIDOLL's RAME, or Sadie's Mao. Only one was available of each, so they sold out almost immediately.

The second special item being sold was a special polaroid set. This set included a Lin polaroid storage book (which you can buy here), but signed by all the members, with a set of 15 random Lin cheki (although the cheki were random, you were guaranteed to get at least one of each member). Two of these sets were available, but, again, they sold out almost immediately.

I kind of like these special sales that the web shop does occasionally, but it sucks that they always sell out too quickly for us to take advantage. And I guess it's just how UNDER CODE makes a quick buck, so maybe it's best not to encourage it |D

[Archived] Lin BOOTLEG DVD
凛 -the end of corruption world- (Lin) has announced the release of OFFICIAL BOOTLEG DVD VOL:1, which will contain live footage. No specific release date has been decided (see below), but it is exclusively for order at the official web shop, and will ship out sometime late this month.

The original plan was to announce this release in April. However, since UNDER CODE decided to donate proceeds from all official web shop sales to victims of the earthquake, they decided to announce the release and put it up for order early, to encourage more purchases/donations. Because it's been announced earlier than originally planned, they haven't even finished editing the footage and pressing the DVDs, which means that no specific release date can be given. However, the expected time-frame is sometime late this month.

凛 -the end of corruption world- (Lin)
OFFICIAL BOOTLEG DVD VOL:1
2011-03-??; 2,625 yen; official bootleg live DVD; LINDVD-01
01. FREEDOM (live clip from 2010-10-24)
02. Metamorphose (live clip from 2011-01-07)
03. Fake Dance (live clip from 2011-01-07)

I think it's really cool of them to announce this early, just so that more proceeds will go to the victims.

2011-03-26 edit: the bootleg live DVD release has been indefinitely delayed. According to UNDER CODE, it will be put back up for sale once they've worked certain details out.

2011-03-31 edit: According to UNDER CODE, the bootleg live DVD will now be released on 2011-04-15 through the official web shop, and all proceeds will go to charity to support victims of the earthquake. No details (tracklisting/title) have changed from the initial announcement.

Has this convinced any of you to make an order? I think I'll place one tomorrow with this DVD, CindyKate's single, maybe some other stuff. If anyone would like to go in with me (either to save on shipping/fees, or just to coordinate buying different releases so we get rips!), feel free to contact~

[Archived] HEISEI ISHIN's last live
I forgot to post this, over and over. I'm really sorry that it's so late now.

平成維新 (HEISEI ISHIN) will hold their final stage at the flower ceremony for deceased vocalist 拓 (Taku).

This must be really confusing, so here is a complete recap, from their graduation announcement to today's ↓

---

In July of 2010, HEISEI ISHIN announced that they would graduate from UNDER CODE in September of that year. After graduating from the label, HEISEI ISHIN announced a trio of oneman lives in December--Dec.7, Dec.8, and Dec.11.

In October of 2010, the band was revealed to be a special guest at UNDER CODE's New Year's Eve live. However, in November, the band announced that they planned to disband. Effectively, the band was set to disband on December 31st.

Unfortunately, vocalist Taku passed away on December 10th, 2010, just a day before the band's planned third oneman. That oneman and the band's appearance at the New Year's Eve live was cancelled. The band had effectively never held their disbandment live, but bassist and leader Yoshi later revealed that he still considered December 31st to be the band's official end.

However, on January 25th, 2011, Taku's uncle met with Yoshi. The uncle asked Yoshi, and the other members of the band, to take the stage one last time at Taku's memorial flower ceremony, which is set to take place on February 1st. Therefore, out of respect for Taku's family, HEISEI ISHIN will take the stage one last time.

HEISEI ISHIN's final stage will be held on 2011-02-01. HEISEI ISHIN has and forever will be a five member band, so all five members will take the stage (Taku presumably through projected footage). Their final stage will commence at 18:30, which was to be the starting time of their last oneman on December 11th.

Yoshi asks that everyone sings along and looks toward HEISEI ISHIN on their final stage.

It's a little late now, but the address of the flower ceremony/final stage is:

[Archived] Flower ceremony for Taku
平成維新 (HEISEI ISHIN) bassist 善 (yoshi) has announced that a public flower ceremony has been organized for 拓 (Taku), who passed away on 2010-12-10.

Anyone may attend the ceremony, and formal dress is not required. Flowers will not be provided; anyone who wishes to lay a flower/wreath at the shrine must bring their own supplies. Furthermore, the laying will be done sequentially (so those who arrive first get to lay their flower first), and the last flower will be placed 30 minutes before the end of the ceremony.

The ceremony will be held on 2011-02-01 at HOLIDAY OSAKA from 15:00 to 20:00.

---

I'm glad they'll have a formal way for everyone to pay last respects. Hopefully someone here can go—I know many of us wish we could. RIP Taku

Assuming you've read/seen the posts Taku's UCP friends have written about him, here are some from people who are not from the label ((though some are related in one way or other)) if anyone's interested. I'm sure there are more out there, these are just those I came across while wanting to read those people's blogs. You can make a search for more, if you'd like. Translations are always welcome if you feel like doing it.

[Archived] HEISEI ISHIN vocalist Taku has died
Apparently 拓 (Taku), vocalist of 平成維新 (HEISEI ISHIN), has passed away.

Bassist 善 (Yoshi) just updated his blog saying that 拓 (Taku) passed away on December 10th from unspecified causes. A funeral ceremony will be held, but only for family members. Obviously, planned lives have been canceled.

WHAT THE FUCK
[Archived] Kisaki survived the hospital!
Kisaki is having the last meal of his hospital stay and getting discharged tonight~~ He's promised the doctor that he'll report to the hospital regularly so he doesn't have to live there anymore. And...because living at the hospital is no fun, he's going to take care of his body even while working hard. Yay~
**Unrelated but...his hospital food looks better than any hospital food I've ever seen!
[Archived] KISAKI Released
KISAKI was discharged today from the hospital, and so he will be appearing at the 2010-06-18 live (should be about to start!).

: Actually he hasn't really been discharged from the hospital yet... >.> The doctor in charge of his case gave him permission to go out for a bit.

You would think being discharged means he's better, but he admitted in his blog that he hadn't eaten for the three days he was in the hospital, and he definitely won't be getting any rest with a live to play at. So it's not time to stop worrying yet. Hopefully he'll get through the live without incident and actually take some time to recover.

Best wishes to KISAKI.

[Archived] Kisaki escaped the hospital XD
Kisaki was let out of the hospital to attend his first Tokyo live (as 凛). He's rushing there at the moment...while weak from 3-4 days of not eating (lol). Unbelievable(!)
[Archived] VIDOLL
This obviously isn't UNDER CODE news, and most of you probably know already, but they were part of the family once, so I'm posting it anyway!

Apparently ジュイ (JUI) has been having problems with his throat for a significant period of time, and it's finally become too much for him to hide. As his vocals fail more and more, he and the band decided to pause activities on 2010-09-18, so that he can get surgery and hopefully correct the problem.

There's no telling how long they'll be gone, but he said it might take around a year and a half for him to recover (please check out his full statement at Shattered-Tranquility). Let's all hope that he'll recover much sooner than that, and that he'll be singing like his old self again.

[Archived] Kisaki hospitalized
Today in his blog, a notice explained that on Monday, KISAKI was rushed to the hospital after his health rapidly deteriorated. Upon examination, he was diagnosed with a severe case of Ulcerative Duodenitis (Duodenitis is basically inflammation and irritation of the wall of the first part of the small intestine, and this type has ulcers involved). He will be hospitalized at least three weeks, and at the moment he is in the ICU under doctor’s orders of complete bed rest.

I hope he gets well soon..

[Archived] KISAKI Hospitalized
KISAKI has been hospitalized after a checkup, due to a problem in his duodenum (a section of the small intestine). He's currently in the ICU and can't leave the hospital for at least three weeks.

(I'm confident that this post is correct, but as I used a translator service, there's a chance that some detail is incorrect.)

Let's wish KISAKI lots of luck and hope that he heals quickly and without problem. I know he's had plenty of medical problems in the past, so I hope that he gets over these quickly. Get well soon KISAKI!
